I saw Wilco last night at the Warfield. It was a great show but the energy of the crowd was strange — more mellow that any other Wilco show I’ve ever seen.
Wilco has a new “no smartphone” rule (apparently Jeff Tweedy hates looking out at the audience and seeing phones looking back at him) so I don’t know if was that phone-addicted San Franciscans didn’t know what to do with themselves without a phone in hand, or if it was from the very mellow start to the set, but it wasn’t until the encore that the crowd seemed to come to life.
The set list:
- Sunken Treasure (electric arrangement, no harmonica)
- Art Of Almost
- I Might
- Ashes Of American Flags
- Bull Black Nova
- At Least That’s What You Said
- One Sunday Morning
- Shouldn’t Be Ashamed
- Either Way
- Born Alone
- Laminated Cat (electric arrangement)
- Impossible Germany
- One By One
- Forget The Flowers
- Handshake Drugs
- Standing O
- Misunderstood
- I Must Be High
- The Late Greats
- Dawned On Me
Encore:
- Whole Love
- Heavy Metal Drummer
- I’m The Man Who Loves You
- A Shot in the Arm
- The Lonely 1
